Guess who?! I've decided to come back and grace you with my presence! Just kidding! I am back from a bit of a blogging vacation though. And it's definitely time for a little checking in since my last post was MONTHS ago! ! We Stevens gals have been crazy with activity this year! I feel like a whirlwind just swept me up and off to Oz. No joke! School started back in August and nothing has been the same since!
Since my mini vacation took my completely a-WOL for quite awhile, I thought a family update was in order. Just, you know, checking in and letting you all know that the girls and I are very much still alive.
So let's chat all about...
Products I'm Loving Lately
1. JAKAGO Business Padfolio Waterproof Document Bag Carrying Case
BUY HERE (afflink - thank you!)
This is probably the greatest thing I have purchased all year (honestly, I have a second one but this one is my life). I ordered it from Amazon on a whim when I was looking for a way to corral my week into one portable container. I knew I wanted something that was very portable but big on space. Enter Amazon and JAKAGO.
Yeah, it holds my life.
I'm pretty much never without this folio. For many reasons, it's the perfect on the go mini office. (check out these great mini office ideas on my Pinterest board!) The space inside is amazing (I can't say it enough!) and it slide right into my office bag perfectly. I strongly encourage you to get one if you're needing a little extra organization or if organizing your life is on your upcoming new years resolution list.
Bonus! There's some seriously great colors and patterns to choose from! I chose blue because it matches my business bag/purse setup and I am ridiculously picky about how things match (or don’t!)
2. Savannah Bee Company Your Majesty Travel Kit
BUY HERE (afflink - thank you!)
Seriously, I'm loving this stuff. I literally fell on to it in the store and have been using it ever since. The shampoo is a wee bit runny but ultimately, it's a damn good product!
I'm not going into too terribly much detail since I plan to write a full review on Savannah Bee products in general, but know that I back the product 100%
What I'm Reading:
Of course, I am still reading. all. the. damn. time. I read even more than usual during this little break. I can't help it. I fell into the Kindle Lending Library and couldn't get back out! Check out my updated Goodreads list. I just wrapped up a few good ones that I will be adding to my book list on the main site and reviews will follow.
Here's my December 2018 reading list:
The Widows of Malabar Hill; Sujata Massey (afflink:) https://amzn.to/2T5KKCq | https://sohopress.com/books/the-widows-of-malabar-hill/
Want to read along with me? Be sure you are following me on Facebook to stay up to date on what I am reading, my thougts and opinions as I read and all the other great details to come!
Girl Scouting is still going strong!
Our little troop has grown by three! And let me tell you, I lovelovelove these girls! They all have my heart! Having earned over 5 badges since October, Troop 4698 is going strong. Cookie season is coming soon so brace yourselves!
Our darling Lily Lu has been growing not just in size but personality as well. Although she still really wants to be a police officer, she has her heart set on becoming a youtuber and influencer as well. Some of her favorite things right now:
Party Popteenies (afflink:) https://amzn.to/2TawpVs | http://www.partypopteenies.com/en_us. These things are seriously cute. You can check out Miss LuLu's video opening of her FIRST Party Popteenie in the car! (video link/embed)
Code Makers Lego Club. At school. Twice a week Lily stays after school to build a moon base from Legos with her classmates. She's adoring every second and just can't believe she is allowed to play with Legos - at school! - for fun!
All About Abbi:
What can I say? Having Abbi home with me feels like a dream. Except when it's a nightmare. Seriously, don't have teenagers. So what's new with the Abbster?
She's graduating in MAY! Yes, for real. Not only did Abbi turn 17 in April but she started her SENIOR YEAR in August! About a week ago we ordered her cap and gown, announcements and all the other fun graduation doodads. My baby is grown up. *sniff*
Film Lit. Not even kidding. The kid is FINALLY immersing herself in good film. Her favorite so far? 2001! Yeah, huge shock to me as well. I'm just happy Abbi is finally finding a world of film outside of The Haunting of ______ Place/House/etc.
AHS: Asylum. It has begun! Abbi has finally embraced American Horror Story! I decided to break her in easy with Asylum as (aside from Roanoke), it's easily the mildest season. I think her favorite part was seeing Voldemort’s brother as a priest!
P.S. AHS: Apocalypse finale is Wednesday!
What Else have We Been Doing?
Lately there has been a shit ton of staying as warm as possible. Winter finally managed to break through, despite how long summer held on. I recently broke out the coats, gloves and other winter wear and we already had our first snowfall (I say it doesn't count. Not enough white powder on the ground, in my opinion). I'm definitely wishing we were taking a winter vacation to somewhere warm.
The girls will be on Fall Break soon and I'm looking forward to some much needed sleeping in.
One Last Thing:
YOU. There's this amazing TV show on Lifetime that I have been obsessing over. For reals, I have loved Penn Bagdley since Gossip Girl but he is killing it as creepy bokstore clerk Joe who has an unatural obsession with a patron who comes to buy a book. How will this turn out? I dunno. I have the season finale all queued up but no alone, quiet time to finish it
Now that I have sufficiently bored you to death, I'll wrap this up with a call to sign up for the EAE newsletter to stay up to date on all things Stevens Family and EAE. And don't forget to follow me and Lily on social media! My girl posts some cute stuff!
I miss all of you and look forward to getting back into the groove soon!
Until next time,
