I began my wellness journey back in January but failed to become really serious about until last month. I knew I wanted to start with working out and clean eating so I decided to invest in myself. If you're anything like me, you're eager to get started on your own wellness journey so here's how I got started and held myself accountable when it came down to what I was putting in my body.
1 | Paleo
Naturally, I started with Pinterest and looked up everything from clean eating to the 31 Day Fix. There were so.many.recipes and guides I became super overwhelmed. I ended up starting with paelo (this site here is really helpful). This ended up really cutting back on the endless searching I had been doing.
But what is Paleo?
Basically, if cavemen didn't eat it, neither should you.
Simply put, eat only the ingredients you can pronounce and try to eat only the food you prepare for yourself. Sounds difficult but it's really not.
2 | Meal Planning
I've done the meal planning thing off and on for years but it always manages to get away from me. I ended up purchasing the meal plan add on from Plum Paper so that I would actually use it. My theory is, if I paid for it, I had better use it.
3 | Measure It Out
Although I do not follow the 21 Day Fix exactly, I did decide I needed some variety during meal time. I had a nasty habit of eating a large bowl of cereal and drinking coffee for breakfast or noming down on a whole Totino's pizza for lunch/dinner.
I found these awesome Rubbermaid containers on Amazon and never looked back.
These containers are a portion control eater's dream!
No joke, I fill them up each night and take it from there in the morning. Bonus; they come with ice packs so you don't have to take up so much space in your lunch bag when transporting them to and fro. I also bought the (not pictured) sandwitch kit.

I have to say that this is the longest I have been able to stick to one eating wellness plan. I never thought it would stick but here I am following through!
Do you use portion control or any type of meal planner?
