4 Ways to Grow Your Blog (without paying a dime!)

Every one of these methods has been tried and true for every blog I have owned in the past 3 plus years. Although it will take time and energy I definitely recommend the following ways to get more eyes on your blog, increase your page views without paid searches and to even gather more followers on your social media platforms!

I'm just popping in today to talk a little bit about how you can grow your blog organically without investing a single penny to do so. Every one of these methods has been tried and true for every blog I have owned in the past 3 plus years. Although it will take time and energy I definitely recommend the following ways to get more eyes on your blog, increase your page views without paid searches and to even gather more followers on your social media platforms!

So without further ado, go ahead and click that cute little "continue reading" button and let's get to it!

1 | Commenting On Other Blogs:

This is one of the best and easiest ways to grow your page views and bring in a lot of new followers. Let's think about this realistically for a second; you are most likely already reading others blogs aren't you? So why not go the extra mile and leave a sincere, honest comment? Now I'm not talking about a comment like this:

Hi, I really like this post, please visit me on my blog www.yourblogurlhere.com.

That's so not ok, y'all! You don't really want to become the blogger who does drive-by commenting now do you? Of course not. You take a lot of time to create your blog posts, creating wonderful content and graphics that are completely shareable. So do all those bloggers you love reading posts from. So take a second to really think and leave a heartfelt comment.

2 | Sharing On All Your Social Platforms

Social media is not just to update your life folks. When you take the time to create your quality content you definitely want to share it. You want to share it everywhere.

Facebook is a really good place to post one of your branded images and a small excerpt of your post. Bonus: If you were inspired by someone or are writing about someone else in your post, tag them!

Twitter is also really great for tagging those you are mentioning in your post. I also recommend using at least 2 hashtags (#) in your Tweet to ensure people will find it. Always shorten your links to guarantee you will have enough space for a brief description of your post.

3 | Facebook Group Shares

Not only is this a particularly great way to get exposure on your blog affiliated social platforms but some of the greatest friend I have made, never mind most of my clients, have come from one or another Facebook Groups. After many, many weeks of sharing I eventually decided to create my own group. Currently it is undergoing maintenance but it is definitely one of my goals for the month of July. BUT, (and I cannot stress this enough) you have to work for them to work. You can't just show up and leave your link, moving along to the next one. In order to get the sincere shares and the loyal readers/followers of your own blog you have to put in the effort to talk with others, share and promote them as well as yourself. Facebook groups are my favorite way to grow because we all grow together.

4 | Link Ups & Blog Hops

Linkups and Blog Hops is the very first way that I put eyes on my blog. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had stumbled on the Aloha Blog Hop hosted by What Jean Likes. To this day I credit her with easily the first thousand page views I ever received.

A Blog Hop is where another blogger hosts a full blog link up and everyone shares it. You put in your blogs main URL and then visit the other people on the list. The other linkers then visit you. Often, leaving comments or sharing posts, following via RSS or signing up for a newsletter is also part of the requirement for a blog hop as well.

A Link Party is extremely similar but there are stricter requirements. For example you should always read the rules as they will be specific to the link up. Some bloggers host a social media link up (such as SoMe2) while others welcome you to link up a specific blog post. Much like a blog hop there will be rules and specifications on what you should or should not do when linking up so always be sure to read your hosts details.

Well my Lovelies, there you have them. My top 4 ways to grow your blog, completely free and (mostly) painlessly. I am willing to 100% guarantee that you will make many new friend, generate a ton of views and maybe even get turned on to other ways to grow or promote your blog while having a really great time in the process!

Do you have any suggestions that would make this list even better? Leave it in the comments so we can chat about all the ways to grow!

I'm self taught in all aspects of design, harking back to the bygone era of MySpace custom flash layouts. I have an eye for pattern and a love for color that makes me a perfect candidate for working as a web designer. Combining my love of design with coding and helping others and I am a natural teacher of all things blog related. My first ever blog was created on AOL Hometowns back n 2003 so I have had a lot of time and experience watching Blog Land grow and evolve and become a place of sharing stories, reviewing products and even making enough money to help support their families.
