Over the years marketing has become a contest, may the brightest and boldest survive. The rest get flushed. And worse yet, people will pay big money to let the big dogs market with the most amazing content you have ever seen while those maybe just starting out get looked over because they just don't have the flash and glitter. 

 

Todays world of small business has been taken by storm and people will do just about anything to pick up the next gig. 

 

When I fist started my design business, I marketed with blog posts, social media (linking to my site) and, most importantly, word of mouth. Word of mouth marketing brought me in over 10 clients in my first 6 months of business. I did good work, i worked cheaper than most and I knew what the hell I was doing. These things made my services more valuable than those with the flashy online billboards.
